Emilia Palancares-Hoyer is a student assistant at the Research Training Group “Aesthetics of Democracy.” She holds a bachelor’s degree in theater, film, and media studies as well as political science from Goethe University in Frankfurt and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Aesthetics. Her research interests entail feminist and post-colonial theory, visual culture, procedural experiences such as pain and empathy, and the question of a political aesthetic that interrogates representation, subjectivity, and experience.
