Martin Renz is academic coordinator of the Research Training Group “Aesthetics of Democracy.” He studied philosophy, political science and American Studies at FU Berlin, Sorbonne (Paris IV), UChicago, and at Goethe-University Frankfurt. In his doctoral dissertation he developed an Arendtian theory of contemporary populism. It was supervised by Johannes Völz (Goethe-University) and Patchen Markell (Cornell University).
